EVELYN TEJEDA
EVELYN TEJEDA, originally from the Dominican Republic, was a Semifinalist at Dominicana’s Got Talent and is a founding member of the Contemporary Dance National Company of the Dominican Republic, directed by Marianela Boan. She received awards for her choreography Imposible Explicar at the Grand Prize of Dance Quisqueya and SoloCoreografico USA 2021. She has toured internationally, performing at FIDCDMX, UNION PDX, XVII Encuentro de Danza Ecuador, Bates Dance Festival, and EDANCO. She was invited by choreographer Maura Morales (Germany) and by David Milome (France), with whom she toured in 2022 across France, Luxembourg, and Martinique, including Festival d'Avignon.
In 2023, she premiered 0.4mm, winning 1st prize at 10 Sentidos (Spain) and performing at Battery Dance Festival (NYC), North to Shore Festival (NJ), EDANCO (DR), West Dance Festival, DELTEBRE Dansa (Spain), Finalist at Burgos & NY Festival 2025, International Dance Festival New Orleans. She was awarded a 2025 Fellowship from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and selected as a Hi-Arts Critical Breaks artist in NYC. She has performed alongside Farruko, AnuelAA, Thomaz, Greeicy, and Eddy Herrera at the Heat Latin Music Awards, Soberanos Awards. She is the 1st Dominican in becoming Elite Judge for Hip-Hop International, she has judged world and national championships. In 2014, she founded Urban Dance Project LABS, promoting Hip-Hop culture through workshops, exhibitions, and competitions in the DR.
